I would like to designate my gift to a staff member at Grindstone Lake Bible camp.
What
are some projects/efforts that I can pray for and/or that my contribution will
go toward?

Last summer a caretaker’s house
was moved in to have someone available to take care of the property in the
off-season. This house will also
serve as much needed housing for the kitchen staff in the summer and will be
used as a storm shelter.

items: upkeep of the camp

Budget: Items for sports, crafts,
nature, music, etc.; also, new activities

The
camp desires to have more elective skills and activities for the children.
This summer we are hoping to add archery for the kids, so bows, arrows,
and target need to be purchased.
How much of the camp expenses is covered by the registration fees?
The registration fees cover approximately 60% of the expenses. The rule of thumb followed to set the registration fee is the following:
Staff Expenses + Food = Registration Fee
This
means that almost everything else comes from donations from individuals and
churches. This allows the camp to keep the cost affordable.
* Any gift helps the camp
maintain its affordable cost. We
have always strived to not have anyone turned away because of cost.
How do I know that my gift will be used wisely?
The
camp board of directors oversees the handling of finances. They are careful to
watch that the camp uses its resources wisely. Each
line-item of the proposed budget represents ONLY the actual amount needed for
the upcoming year. The
board also monitors the expenses and income through monthly reports, ensuring
that we do not overspend.
What are some ways that you’ve seen God bring forth fruit through GLBC?
Camper
testimonies have given us a good idea of the work God is doing at GLBC. Several
have come to staff members to share the change God is making in their heart
throughout the week. Young people are responding with soft hearts, embracing the
memorization of Scripture, are soaking up the lessons at Chapel time, and are
applying what they learn back home.
